Omar Castillo

“He is an artist of dialectics, he composes through tensions, tensions that cross the center and the periphery, the north and the south, gentrification and the rough neighborhood, globalization and the village. On the plane the symbol of Western power and the self-constructed as resistance, recycling, and symbolic tinsel, the bitterness of the poor and the vanity of the one who owns everything intersect. From that two-sided coin a complex, mixed reality emerges; urban and rural, digital and analog, post-industrial and ancestral, divine and human, which cries and laughs every time she draws lots. ”Javier Ferrer i Serra Curator UNAM / Universitat Politècnica de València.
